One of the oldest (circa 1978) and first 5 Star Hotel built in Dubai located in Deira, Corniche Alkhaleej Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Its a very large hotel with long stay apartments on upper floors and roof top pool, not accessible by Hotel guests.

Our Twin room with creek view was reasonably well appointed, comfortable, cool air con, spacious, comfy beds with a nice work station but felt more like a 4 Star room.

Hyatt Regency Dubai, Twin room, creek view, decor and facilities more like a 4 Star Hotel.

However, the room was kept spotlessly clean by the house-keeping team who attended every day with daily complimentary bottled water.

Hotel is situated in older part of Dubai, close to the Gold souk, near the Palm Deira Metro with great views across Creek towards Sharjah. Often see planes taking off from DBX and flying past, but its not a problem as rooms have good double glazing so hardly hear the noise. Its a five minute walk to Deira shops and lots of local shops/eateries, the Metro is about 10 minutes away, however be aware that local area around Hotel is old Dubai.

Daily complimentary shuttles to Dubai Mall and beaches and DBX (days only), but run on a tight schedule and not that frequent. Main Dubai attractions are about 20 to 30 mins away by Taxi.

The leisure facilities (pool, sauna, gym, sunbeds) all good, but pool is small for the size of Hotel and only has sunshine in the mornings and note that sometimes, in late afternoon/evenings areas around pool side are cordoned off for private functions and parties.

There is a small supermarket in adjacent Galleria shopping centre that can easily be accessed internally via Hotel, near the ice rink – very convenient.

Overall, the Hotel felt more like a good international 4 Star. Service from the staff was nearly always with a smile and welcoming, especially from Gurdev Singh, one of the longest serving staff members, – Wow the changes he has witnessed in Dubai over the last 30 years.
