Location is great, if you love traditional Spain, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, and its only a few minutes walk to the very nice Levante Beach.
We were greeted with a smile and checking in was quick and painless. Our 4th floor room was clean, bright and airy with a large balcony. We got two big comfy beds, mini-fridge, plus free WiFi which is now a “must-have” when travelling with kids as they are constantly hooked into social media on the WWW. Bathroom was adequate, if a little dated, plenty of piping hot water though. Air-conditioning comes as standard and there is a small roof top swimming pool, Gym, Sauna and Jacuzzi.
The food was good value, with fresh, variety on an all inclusive basis, but restaurant area can get crowded, so avoid peak eating times. Pace yourself though, else you’ll end up over-eating or not going our as you feel too full!
Avenida seems to be geared to more mature travellers, demonstrated via the choice of resident hotel singer (Rueben) who plays the organ, great if you like an old fashioned song and dance in the evening. There are lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants in town, however its very busy in the mornings – full of locals going about there business so if you want to miss the crowds, pop down to the town in the afternoon or evening.
Recommended for travellers who are looking for an easy-going, laid-back stay, with Spanish food on premises.
