Brexit & President Trump – Two political revolutions happening in 2017, we wonder what impacts this will have on holidays and travel ?
Trump champions isolationism, nativism and protectionism. He has also talked about extreme vetting for travellers visiting the USA. Now that he is President, what will happen next and are you more or less likely to visit the States ?
Brexit, has already led to a weakening of the pound, meaning holidays in Europe cost more as the £££ already buys fewer Euros. Higher airfares might also ensue if tariff free air travel is lost. It could also mean the end of Visa free travel for Brits travelling to main-land Europe and the end of reciprocal health benefits (EHIC).
The uncertainty is reflected in an online poll by Telegraph
In 2014, 76% of UK holidays abroad were in EU countries (29.3 Million) and 63% of inbound visitors were from EU countries (8.8M).
Tricky one to predict ?, So what say you, how do you feel ?
